Kristina Irion is an Associate Professor at the Institute for Information Law (IViR) at the University of Amsterdam. Kristina’s research focuses on how transnational digital technology transforms and shapes European values. She has published on EU competencies and independent supervision in the media sector and small European media systems in democratic transition countries of the Western Balkans. In terms of societal relevance, much of the commissioned research she has led or contributed to did generate a significant impact on public policy, e.g. the INDIREG study.
Doreen Boonekamp is a seasoned chief executive and expert across various disciplines within the screen industries, including film financing, festivals and markets, training and Dutch and European audiovisual policies. Currently, she is active as an independent advisor in various board positions and advisory functions within the audiovisual and cultural sector both in the Netherlands and abroad. She is a.o. Chair of the working group COVID-19 Protocol Audiovisual Sector, Quartermaster of a guarantee scheme covering for pandemic risks for audiovisual productions, co-organizer of the European Film Politics Seminar at the film festivals of Berlin, Cannes, and Venice and Chair of the Open Method of Coordination (OMC) group of Member States’ Experts on Co-productions in the Audiovisual Sector for the European Commission. From October 2009 till October 2019 Doreen Boonekamp was the CEO of the Netherlands Film Fund. Before the Fund she has headed eight editions of the Netherlands Film Festival. She previously also worked for the CineMart at the International Film Festival Rotterdam and at the Netherlands Film Festival holding different positions.
Arie Landsmeer is the Director of the Association of Dutch Content Producers (NCP). After spending some time at the University of Amsterdam, he worked for the financial industry and the telecommunication supervisor OPTA. Before entering the area of content (media-producers), Arie also spent approximately 10 years in the Telecommunications industry, at Vodafone, Ziggo, Liberty Global. In his current position, he works mainly in the field of public policy, regulatory affairs, and stakeholder management.
